It has already become a tradition to conduct the action "St. George Ribbon" within the entire territory of the Russian Federation. This year, the road policemen of Russia's OMVD for Nefteyugansk District, together with secondary schoolchildren from Nefteyugansk District, conducted the action "St. George Ribbon" ahead of the Victory Day, a great holiday for children and adults alike.
St. George Ribbon is part of many war decorations of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and modern Russia, and a special distinction. In modern Russia, St. George Ribbon is part of the St. George Order - the highest was decoration of the Russian Federation which is conferred upon the senior and high officers for performing missions in the case of the foreign attacks.
Besides, St. George Ribbon is found in other war decorations, medals, standards and colours.
Today, the young road inspectors from the Singapaysky School were happy to participate in this important event. The children handed St. George Ribbons over to the road users as symbols of the memory of the greatest battles and he soldiers' courage, told the young and grown-up road users about the meaning of the action, and congratulated them on the coming Victory Day.
Distributing the colourful memos and handbooks, the young road policemen reminded the road users of the necessity to observe the road safety rules, be polite and respectful to each other.
