The Championship was dedicated to the employees killed in local wars, and brought together 334 athletes from 46 regions of the Russian Federation representing 58 teams of the Internal Affairs bodies and educational institutions of Russia's MVD.
The high status of the competitions is confirmed by the entry list including 27 International Masters of Sports, 83 Masters of Sports, 188 Candidate Masters of Sports, and 3 Honoured Masters of Sports. 29 athletes hold the 1st sports category.
Among the 1st group teams, the first prize was taken by the sportsmen of the MVD for the Republic of Tatarstan, the second prize was taken by the boxers from Russia's MVD Main Administration for Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast, and the bronze medal went to the team of Russia's MVD Main Administration for Chelyabinsk Oblast.
Among the 2nd group teams, the first prize was taken by the boxers of the MVD for the Udmurt Republic. The second prize was taken by the boxing team from Russia's UMVD for Vladimir Oblast, and the bronze medal went to the athletes of Russia's UMVD for Belgorod Oblast
The competitions were attended by Minister of the Interior Police Major General Alexander Pervukhin of the Udmurt Republic who came to see the bouts each day. The grandstands of the gym were fully packed with fans, in particular on the days of the final bouts. Many of the spectators were Udmurt policemen and Izhevsk residents who had come to support their townsmen.
The teams that had participated in the competitions thanked the leadership of the MVD for the Udmurt Republic and the Republic's leadership for the warm welcome, a well-coordinated organization and high level of the competitions. Along with the good organization, the Ministry of the Interior of the Udmurt Republic arranged for an entertainment program for the participants.
All winners and runners-up in various weight categories were awarded medals, diplomas and valuable gifts. The winners and runners-up in the team competitions received Russia's MVD Box Championship Cups.
