A ceremony of solemn opening of the Days of militia of Tatarstan under the motto "Serving the law we serve the people" took place at the international horse-racing center "Kazan" under participation of the management of Republic Tatarstan, the Ministry of Interior in Republic Tatarstan. Among the participants was also the Chairman of the State Council of Republic Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin, the Minister of Interior in Republic Tatarstan Asgat Safarov, the mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, members of the Public council at the Ministry of Interior in Republic Tatarstan, heads of Republic Tatarstan and the Ministry of Interior in Republic Tatarstan.
The holiday program contained a parade of units of the Kazan garrison of militia, a ceremony of handing state and departmental awards to distinguished employees of internal affairs departments and citizens who assisted in the disclosure of crimes. The militia employees honored the memory of their perished companions by a one-minute silence.
The visitors could see demonstration performances of fighters of the special mission group, the aviation group of the Ministry and parachutists. Employees of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate showed elements of extreme driving.
For the fidelity to their duties, the courage, the valor and the high proficiency, state and departmental awards of the Russian Federation and Tatarstan were handed over to 22 employees of law enforcement bodies of Republic Tatarstan.
All interested persons could have a look at the last novelties of equipment of militia in Tatarstan visiting an exhibition of weapons, special facilities and equipment.
The celebratory events were concluded by a horserace, a show horse-racing performance and a concert with participation of masters of arts of Tatarstan, winners of competitions of the Ministry of Interior of Russia "Shield and Lyre" and "Mercy of white nights".
