Conference about sobriety and healthy way of life at Cultural center of Ministry of Interior of Tatarstan

Analyzing the statistical data on the death rate due to poisoning with alcohol and crimes committed under the influence of liquor, the public organization "Union of youth of internal affairs departments of Republic Tatarstan", initiated to support the federal project "Common mission" focused on the propagation of the sobriety and a healthy way of life among the population in Republic Tatarstan.

The purpose of the project is the development of measures to overcome the excessive dependence of the population on alcohol.

Among the participants of the conference were representatives of the public youth chamber at the State Council of Republic Tatarstan, representatives of youth public organizations, leaders of youth movements, representatives of the Ministry of Health of Republic Tatarstan.

The participants of the conference declared the purposes of the project, discussed issues related to prevention of alcoholism, listened to opinions of addictology experts.

The chairman of the public organization "Union of youth of law enforcement bodies of Republic Tatarstan" Denis Syrov noted: "The alcohol issue is a national disaster. Most of the crimes against the person are committed by people who are under the influence of liquor. We should think this problem over. Therefore, we have decided to give even more attention to the prevention. First of all we will try to get across the information about the harmfulness of alcohol, tobacco smoking and drug consumption to the young generation, school children, students. We will also try to reach youth in the country".
