More four-footed fighters for transport militia of Yakutia

The Yakut dog experts have their own know-how, a special winter lining for the muzzle which ensures preliminary air heating protecting the respiratory ways and olfactory bodies of four-footed assistants from freezing injuries.

One of these days the dog expert of Lena line internal affairs department of water transport of the Northeast Internal Affairs Directorate of transport of the RF Ministry of Interior Evgeniy Zvezdetsky successfully passed the qualification examination. Now the sergeant of militia Zvezdetsky and his East European sheep-dog Berta are fully entitled to undertake real work.

Work aimed at the vocational training of office dogs in transport militia units has always been under special control. Dog experts working in the transport sphere face serious challenges.

Quite a lot of people haunted by the law enforcement bodies move along transport arteries, among them are drug mules, people illegally transporting various types of weapons and ammunition supplies. The crowdedness and the high mobility are negative factors attracting criminals. In such a situation nearly everything depends on the efficiency of reaction and adequate preventive measures.

The new dogs will be engaged in the counteraction to illegal drug distribution. As Evgeniy explains, only the full mutual understanding between the owner and the four-footed ward yields a good result. It shall be noted that the character of any dog is immediately related to the type of its nervous system.

In other words an active and vigorous choleric dog perfectly copes with searching for drugs in crowded places while a phlegmatic dog is highly likely to be chosen for working with explosives.

Hundreds of disclosed criminal cases illustrate the high proficiency and indispensability of office dogs. The zone center of the dog expert service of the Ministry of Interior in Republic Sakha (Yakutia) is where real enthusiasts guided by Alexander Klunduk. By the way, next February the center is celebrating its 10th Anniversary.
