Veteran awarded medal "For honor and courage" in Kemerovo region

In Kemerovo region, the veteran of work Gennady Tretyakov who not only protected himself from a robbery but also helped detain a criminal is awarded a medal "For honor and courage".

On January 26, about one o'clock in the afternoon Gennady Tretyakov came to the Savings Bank branch in Kirova st. 13 to receive his pension. Almost at once a young, slovenly dressed man entered the bank hall, ostensibly to get a warm.

The non-impressive pensioner with a walking stick turning from the cash desk window captured his predator eye. Hoping for an easy game, the malefactor rapidly approached the veteran, snatched out his pension and tried to flee.

However, Gennady Tretyakov was not perplexed and tripped the robber who fell on the floor and failed to rise as the elderly person pressed the criminal to the floor demanding his money back. Seeing it, the employees of the Savings Bank pressed the emergency militia call button. In some minutes the unfortunate robber was detained by employees of the private security service.

Gennady Tretyakov belongs to the generation whose childhood was during the hard military and post-war years, to the generation which is inherently aware of the call of duty, good and justice. His good physical form is due to the service in the navy fleet, the work at the machine-building factory of Yurga, the regular cycling exercises he continues even today.
