First session of Public council in 2010 took place at Internal Affairs Directorate in Kaluga region

The main item on the agenda was summing up the results of the two-year's activity of this public association. Its members have got acquainted with the work of services and units of the Internal Affairs Directorate, personally participated in spot-checks, campaigns, preventive actions, round table meetings and press conferences addressing urgent problems of the law enforcement activity. Also they have contributed to the prevention of criminality of minors, to the development of the cadet movement, to the formation of a positive image of militia employees via mass media.

According to the head of the regional Internal Affairs Directorate Oleg Torubarov, the Council's activity convincingly proves that without interaction with the civil society it is impossible to solve problems the militia bodies face. Oleg Torubarov thanked the members of the Council for the civil and human sympathy, for the commitment and objectivity, for the real assistance and the contribution to the positive changes in the militia activity.

All members of the Council took part in the discussion of the results. In their speeches offers concerning the further perfection of the militia activity were made.

One of the offers accepted was an offer to the management to meet colleagues in public councils from the adjoining regions for learning and exchanging the experience. The main conclusion was that everyone should do their job well using all available opportunities, act with more commitment and creativity and to position himself as a representative of the public council at the Internal Affairs Directorate.
