Today, the opening of a special center at the Internal Affairs Directorate in Khabarovsk for managing squads operating within a uniform disposition in the territory of the regional capital took place took place as part of the program "Safe city".
Among those who took part in the opening ceremony was the head of the Internal Affairs Directorate in Khabarovsk area major general of militia Alexey Alexeevich Lapin and the head of the Internal Affairs Directorate in Khabarovsk colonel of militia Victor Vladimirovich Grazhdantsev.
The center was placed in operation to ensure efficient control of external squads, improve the coordination of their actions (particularly when disclosing crimes hot on the trail), quickly suppress group infringements of the public order (particularly during mass events and activities) as well as, and provide full and timely information support of the external squads' actions.
Now employees working directly in the squad management center can promptly send data about a person stopped for checking the identity, information about stolen things, about all incidents, traffic accidents, jams and other information to patrol squads.
Employees can take advantage of mounted video cameras located in the territory of administrative districts of the city to survey the situation or an event in detail in the real time mode, to discern the face of an offender, or a car number.
Thanks to the tracking system "Argo-strazh" the duty officer always knows where patrol crews are. Receiving information about an incident, the duty officer reports the area to all nearest squads concentrating them where necessary so that suspects are detained quickly as a rule.
For safeguard of the city dwellers the official authorities together with the Internal Affairs Directorate are intending to mount more than 2,000 video cameras along main streets till 2012, to equip about 600 objects with video surveillance systems. These would be popular public places, objects of special importance, institutions for public health services, secondary and preschool education institutions, the industry enterprise and transportation nodes.
Now more than 150 video cameras are mounted in the territory of the city, about 20 objects are equipped with video surveillance systems.
The state-of-the-art equipment operating in the center will enable employees of the alert department of the city Internal Affairs Directorate to continuously trace the situation in the main streets of the regional capital, in park zones and in other popular public places which will essentially increase the speed of reaction of the squads, reduce the street criminality and improve the operative situation in the city.
