New program "Conversation with the Minister" went on air over radio station "Militia wave"

This is Radio "The Militia Wave" (MW). Today, a new program was broadcast on the air of "The Militia Wave". It is called "Conversation with the Minister". The visitor in the studio is the RF Minister of Interior, General of the Army Rashid Gumarovich Nurgaliev.

MW. Since this is our first meeting it would be pertinent to tell that we have prepared for our audience.

Minister. The citizens will receive information which is without fail objective and at first hand. For me as the Minister it will be interesting to know, what problems are relevant for the society, what there is to do to provide the higher quality of life, safety, the law and order in the country. And of course, this is a dialogue which will enable us to find additional reserves for increasing the efficiency of the Ministry of Interior's activity.

MW. The program will be broadcast weekly. We will meet every Wednesday at 8.30. Every following meeting with the Minister will be based on letters, calls and questions from our audience so that we can call the program "Conversation with the Minister" a dialogue indeed.

Minister. It is worth calling to mind that the developing democratic institutes of our country are primarily based on the dialogue of the power and the society. Speaking about the dialogue we mean not only mutual relations of the Ministry of Interior and public institutes, but also a state of affairs enabling any citizen of our country to implement their constitutional rights for the freedom of thought and word, the freedom of the mass media. In its turn, the activity of our department should be open, transparent and accessible in terms of information. The Ministry of Interior of Russia is always within sight of the public. The social peace and harmony in the society and certainly, the citizens' confidence in the power authorities primarily depend on the efficiency of the militia activity. Receiving objective and trustworthy information about the Ministry's activity is a requirement of the modern Russian society, its citizens, a subject of interest for politicians and political parties, for representatives of business communities. That is probably why airing "The Conversation with the Minister" is an imperative of our time.

MW. One can be quite sure this program will gain wide response, and the audience will likely have lots of questions to you.

Minister. Yes, the Ministry of Interior of Russia has been consistently pursuing the principle of openness, transparency, and certainly, information availability since 2004. It has initiated the public discussion of ways for perfection of activity of law enforcement bodies. We have defined a social model and image of the Russian militia in the 21^st century, the basics of the organizational administrative structure meeting the challenges and threats for the safety and reckoned as valid for the medium prospect till 2020, key aspects of the technological upgrade of the operational activity. We are interested in fair, professional and constructive contacts free from political passions and interests.

MW. Well, see you in the air then.

Minister. I believe that this meeting is looked forward to. We would like to establish a meaningful dialogue with the society to once again estimate the way chosen for today by the Russian militia.
