Orenburg militia officers met "problem" teenagers

A "problem" child is no fatal diagnosis or verdict. It is incorrect and unfair to declare such teenagers human wrecks. Everyone has a chance to correct one's errors.

This week turned out to be full of interesting events for employees of the juvenile department of the regional capital. For their wards who are under their supervision the militia officers arranged a real holiday. Within two days 25 children met the management of the Internal Affairs Directorate, visited a museum and got acquainted with the range of the Internal Affairs Directorate.

Getting acquainted with the militia activity started with a meeting with the head of Internal Affairs Directorate Yefrem Romanov. The children listened to advice of the main militia officer without uttering a word and put him their questions. Knowing his trade in the fullest detail, Yefrem Romanov tried to explain to the teenagers its core sense: "The militia officer is a specialty for a tutor of human souls and the society."

After the press conference the children visited the church of Dmitry Solunsky. After a warm welcome the boys went on their after-dinner excursions with risen spirits and genuine curiosity.

At the regional museum of the Internal Affairs Directorate the children got acquainted with the history of militia bodies and learned some facts about the history of Orenburg Cossacks at the Orenburg Cossacks Museum. The guides told the small visitors about the most important history events and showed them the most interesting exhibits. Enthusiastic exclamations could be heard near the stands with weapons. Also, the children rather liked the stuffed animals of animals exhibited in the Orenburg Cossacks Museum.

At the dog-breeding center, the boys were acquainted with the work of tracker dogs. Some demonstration performances were carried out to let everyone see the trained animals find drugs and detain offenders.

On the second day, a demonstration performance of Emercom reps was arranged on the training ground. The children were allowed not only to extinguish an imaginary fire themselves, but also to bathe under a water stream.

"The children let us approach them and willingly participated in the activities. We hope that we have succeeded in imparting them some of the holiday and many of them will understand that our work is both necessary and rather dangerous," say employees of the Emercom.

Hopefully these days will not pass in vain for the children. It was actually a small door into another life which the children will certainly want to open again.
