Today, a solemn consecration of the banner of the management took place at Kuzbass Internal Affairs Directorate of transport. The ceremony was held by the chief of Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk diocese the eminent bishop Aristarkh.

Long before the ceremony the territory people started to gather around the stele of memory in the inner yard of the transport militia management. Two rows of employees stood along the forged fencing. The church chorus and clerics got their places opposite to them, with the management of Kuzbass Internal Affairs Directorate of transport nearby.

The head of Kuzbass Internal Affairs Directorate of transport, major general of militia Vasiliy Volkov said some words of welcome: "For employees of law enforcement bodies, the banner has the same value as a holy image for believers. Fighters would march into battle with a banner which helped them crush their enemies. Everyone knows that losing a fighting banner meant almost a defeat. But even now that we live in peacetime the banner has not lost the sacred value for us. Often militia employees face the tough challenges of struggle against criminality, so we all need a belief in the triumph of truth and justice, a strong moral and spiritual support".

After the secular speech the ceremony of consecration started in Kemerovo for the first time. The head of Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk diocese the eminent bishop Aristarkh held a solemn service. The deep silence on the square emphasized the importance of the moment. The hierarch told the listeners about the inseparable connection of the church and military banners. He particularly mentioned that not a single museum has a Russian banner to exhibit. This is because this attribute of military glory was never surrendered to the enemy. It has always been a pivotal relic it was an honor to sacrifice one's life for.

After the banner of the management was sprinkled with holy water, the bishop of Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk blest the employees of transport militia for good deeds. General Volkov accepted the banner from hands of the eminent bishop. Kneeling down he kissed a tip of the red-and-blue velvet respectfully. This rite which was full of honor and nobleness symbolized responsibility taken up by the head for the storage of the relic as well as the responsibility which he undertakes for all employees of his division.

The chorus has started singing "Eternal memory of the perished shall live". The solemn voices were followed by cadenced ticking of metronome counting a minute of silence in memoriam of the employees of Kuzbass Internal Affairs Directorate of transport who perished in discharge of the service duty detaining criminals and protecting the constitutional order of Russia in "flash points". A basket of flowers laid to the stele conveyed just a little bit of the pride and respect the militia officers feel for their colleagues.

Finishing the ceremony, the eminent bishop of Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk Aristarkh addressed words of wisdom to everyone. The speech of the hierarch was supported by the song "Long live" performed by the chorus. It was sung for the health and redemption of all those present.
