Today, Minister of the Interior Army General Rashid Nurgaliyev of Russia delivered an address in the State Duma of the Russian Federation within the framework of the Government Hour. He spoke about the Ministry work.
Speaking in the State Duma, Minister of the Interior Army General Rashid Nurgaliyev of Russia thanked the MPs for the joint work in regard with the MVD reform draft laws. He emphasized that the reform concept had undergone severe expert discussion.
Within the year from the beginning of the reform, they managed to lay the foundations for the future changes, according to the minister. The allowance of employees of the Internal Affairs bodies was increased, and positive trends could be seen in terms of the housing provision. The structural subdivisions of the Internal Affairs bodies were reformed, their staff being optimized. The job cut affected mostly the administrative personnel whereas the employees directly responsible for the public security and safety were hardly involved in it. Rashid Nurgaliyev drew the MPs attention to the fact that meetings and public events following the State Duma and presidential elections had been conducted without incidents. This is indicative of the increased police performance efficiency.
"The public opinion is recognized as a criterion of the performance evaluation of the Internal Affairs bodies," the Minister stressed. "We conduct public polls which results may lead to the dismissal of a particular employee."
