Charity campaign of hockey club of Ministry of Interior "Give children hockey" took place in Ice Palace of Balashikha in Moscow region
Among those who participated in the campaign was the Minister of Interior of the Russian Federation General of the Army Rashid Nurgaliev, heads and players of club as well as fosterlings of the boarding school of Torzhok for orphan children and children who lack parent care.
Before the beginning of the friendly match the Minister of Interior of the Russian Federation Rashid Nurgaliev personally handed over complete sets of the hockey uniform to all children from the technical sponsor of the hockey club of the Ministry of Interior, the company "Intersport" as well as from the Veteran Council of the central office of the RF Ministry of Interior.
A glimpse of happiness in the children's eyes is probably the basic reason for this event to occur. The fosterlings of the boarding school of Tver region could hardly believe what happened to them this evening as they played a friendly match with their idols on the ice rink. The boys and girls tried and did their very best.
"Our children did not sleep a couple of nights, agitated. They dreamt of playing with their heroes in Balashikha. For them it was a very important event which they will remember for their whole life. I would like to thank the management of the hockey club of the Ministry of Interior for this excellent initiative," commented the trainer and tutor of the boarding school Alexander Andreyanov for the Press service.
After the game the journalists interviewed the young goalkeeper Sergey Grigoryev. "I've been playing hockey for seven years," declared Sergey to the representatives of the mass media. "Today I got acquainted with Michael Garnett who promised to present me a stick. I will continue playing hockey by all means". Naturally, the Canadian goalkeeper stood to his promise presenting a stick to his young colleague.
After the game the children were invited to tea drinking where they could speak to the RF Minister of Interior Rashid Nurgaliev and the management of the hockey club of the Ministry of Interior. Rashid Gumarovich Nurgaliev wished the children to grow real citizens of Russia and always look optimistic into the future. And the hockey club of the Ministry of Interior will certainly help them here.
It shall be reminded that the hockey club of the Ministry of Interior has been patronizing the boarding school for orphan children in Torzhok for nearly six years already since the team was established.
