Russian militia officer won first gold medal for Russian national team in Olympic games in Vancouver

Yesterday, the second lieutenant of militia Nikita Kryukov who attends Moscow University of the Ministry of Interior of Russia distanced the principal competitors of Russia, sportsmen from Norway, in the individual sprinter ski race.

Struggling desperately, skier Nikita Kryukov ran the distance in high style in the quarter final and semi-final rounds. Already in the final round the second lieutenant literally snatched the victory from his and our compatriot Alexander Panzhinsky who thus won the second place. Norwegian Petter Nortug captured the bronze result.

In the sprinter ski race Nikita Kryukov showed real courage and selflessness, thus securing a gold medal for the Russian national team in the 2010 Olympic games in Vancouver.

We congratulate Nikita and wish him new victories and achievements for the glory and benefit of the Native land!
