Board session of Ministry of Interior of Russia took place in Moscow

Yesterday, a board session of the Ministry of Interior of Russia took place at the Ministry to address the following matter: "About measures in pursuance of the RF President's Address to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation as of November 12, 2009 and the earlier assigned commissions concerning the increase of efficiency of the Ministry of Interior of Russia in terms of the public safety maintenance, the protection of rights and legitimate interests of citizens, the strengthening of the personnel capacity of law enforcement bodies and the counteraction to corruption ".

Opening the session, the Head of the Ministry of Interior of Russia Rashid Nurgaliev observed that the Address of the RF President Dmitry Medvedev contained important suggestions about the organization of activity of law enforcement bodies concerning primarily the strengthening of the personnel capacity, the legality and discipline in the internal affairs department system, the counteraction to corruption, the usage of newest IT technologies.

Over the period from January to November the number of crimes registered in Russia has dropped by 6,3% as compared with the similar period of the previous year. The number of murders, intended inflictions of harm to the health, rapes, thefts, robberies, armed assaults, swindles, vehicle robberies has decreased.

As Rashid Nurgaliev observed, organization-specific and practical measures are already taken in the current year aimed at the personnel strengthening of law enforcement bodies. Also, special attention was given to issues of counteraction to corruption during the session.

The head of the Ministry declared that the Ministry of Interior of Russia never ignores or conceals from the public any cases of internal affairs employees' infringing the legality. Undertaking measures for eradication of corruption effects within it, the Ministry of Interior of Russia urges citizens to cooperation.

During the board session reports concerning most important aspects of the operational activity were presented by heads of some departments of the Ministry of Interior of Russia.
